{Happy Birthday Dad & Kiira}!
However, this edition of Then & Now is actually for my mom! This is one of her favorite photos!
The "Then" photo was taken in September 2007 while we were living in the Seattle area. It's hard to tell in the photo, but basically, our 4 month old baby boy is sitting in a mesh hamper {you know...one of those pop-up kinds?} I can't quite remember why we placed him in the hamper, but it must have seemed like a good idea at the time, as we're nothing but very responsible parents! Obviously he's always been wise beyond his years {notice the questioning look on his face?} Even he knows this isn't normal behavior. Whatever the reason, I'm sure we were sleep deprived and thus found it extremely entertaining at the time!
Now, flash forward almost 3 years and the "Now" photo was taken this morning. This photo op was not planned initially, but Ryne was walking around with the exact same {albeit extremely ratty} mesh hamper over his head and part of his body. By now, he's warmed up quite nicely to the often strange requests and going-ons in the Lawson household, and happily obliged when I asked him to sit in the hamper instead.
Some families capture the growth of their child by sitting them next to a cherished stuffed animal every month / year, or even create hash marks on the wall. Oh no. Not us. There's nothing wrong with thinking outside the box...or inside the hamper!

Yes that was one of my favorites!! I have to say, he's filling out that hamper quite nicely. Love it
Kaylynn loves to put ours over her head and run around the house. :)
