Grandma & Grandpa

We enjoyed a wonderful (and very relaxing) visit from my parent's over the last week! Ryne was thrilled to have Grandma and Grandpa at his home and was more than happy to entertain them and show off for them. Having new people to play with was exciting for him and he just soaked up all of the extra attention! Boy was Ryne sad to see them go. When I took them to the airport earlier today, he cried once he realized that they weren't getting back into the car.

Fun outside with Grandma and Grandpa and the obligatory family photo shoot!

Pehr and I were blessed with a baby-free night away while Grandma and Grandpa babysat Ryne. We drove up north to Springfield, Mass (less than 2 hours away) and went to Six Flags New England. We had a blast on the roller coasters (especially the new Bizarro ride). Due to it being a weekday and overcast and drizzly with chances of thunderstorms, there was barely anyone there which meant little to no wait in line! Not having been to a theme park in 12 years, we soon realized that while we may still be young at heart, are bodies are getting old! After the theme park, we happily relaxed with a movie {in a movie theatre!} and dinner near our hotel.

The next day we headed even further north to South Greenfield, Mass and Magic Wings butterfly conservatory. WOW! A few minutes after entering the conservatory, a butterfly landed on my shoulder and was quite comfortable hanging out there for 10 minutes or so! What a beautiful and totally neat excursion. 3 hours {and 401 photos} later we headed back to Connecticut. It was nice to have a little getaway and we are always thankful for the opportunity for Ryne to spend quality time with his grandparents, but we definitely missed him and were ready to get home.
