Flashback: This photo is from Christmas 1994 or 1995...I can't remember) and was taken at the Tucson mall. We actually went two years in a row, but then they stopped allowing "adults" to take photos alone with Santa.
Speaking of Santa, we thought this would be the year that Ryne actually enjoyed sitting on Santa's lap. He's very into Christmas and the idea of Santa this year. Friday night, we saw Santa riding on a horse-drawn carriage through town and Ryne waved and yelled out that he wanted "Thomas!" We thought it was great and Ryne kept saying "Let's go find him!" We actually didn't think we'd see him, but we happened to find him sitting in front of a realtor's office and the line was really short so we figured we'd give it a try. He was excited. He pointed to the realtor's office and said "They making toys in there!" We tried to prep him and told him that Santa was going to ask what his name was (he replied with his whole name...first, middle, last) and then we told him what he wanted to ask Santa for? "Thomas, Thomas, Thomas!!!" {Thomas the Train in case you're not in the know!}
But, alas, when his turn came, he freaked out and started bawling! He wouldn't even look at Santa so I talked to Santa while I held Ryne and told him what Ryne wanted for Christmas. He wouldn't even take the cookie and candy cane that Santa gave him {but quite enjoyed them on the way home!} In the car on our way back to our house, Ryne even asked us "Where was Mrs. Clause?" We told him that she was making the cookies and helping the elves make the toys. At least we know that we don't need to waste the money at the mall.
There's always next year...

He'll probably let Grandma take him to see Santa. NOT!!!
Pehr has an NAU sweatshirt on so maybe this is from Dec 1996.
Love the picture :)
And is it sad that I didn't need the parenthetical to know what "Thomas" was referring to?
