Deck the Halls!

As tradition holds for many families, we decorated our Christmas tree on Friday night. This year will be the first time in almost 9 years of marriage that we'll be celebrating Christmas in our own home! It's also the first time since Christmas of 2005 that we actually decorated our tree. Pehr was in his rotation that had us moving at the end of December for two years straight and last year we only put up the tree and lights because we had pretty much just gotten our stuff out of storage and we were going to be in Arizona celebrating with our families anyway.

This year, we actually put up the tree and lights a couple of weeks ago, in order to get Ryne ready and excited about Christmas. He had a great timing "helping" decorate the tree. Mostly, he pointed to where he thought each and every ornament should go, and sometimes he even put them on the tree himself. He even went and got his little stool so he could help. The final touch was our angel which Ryne put on top of the tree with a little boost from me!

Now, every day he goes over to the tree and says "I looking at my tree" and asks us which ornaments are our favorites and tells us which ones he likes. He even picked out two that he says are the cats favorites and he makes sure to yell at the cats if they're messing with the tree!

Christmas is going to be a blast this year...I can already tell!
